Mosaic Executive Team
Billy ParishFounder/Chief Executive Officer
Billy co-founded and grew the Energy Action Coalition into the largest youth organization in the world focused on clean energy and climate solutions. Billy developed a proposal to create a Clean Energy Corps to produce 5 million green jobs, which shaped the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), the largest green investment in U.S. history. He has been honored as a Rolling Stone magazine “Climate Hero,” an Utne Reader “50 Visionaries Who Are Changing Your World” and was elected as a Fellow by Ashoka, the global association of the world’s leading social entrepreneurs. Billy is co-author of Making Good: Finding Meaning, Money & Community in a Changing World (Rodale/Penguin 2012).
Dan is a serial entrepreneur with 10 years of experience leading clean energy, green building and energy efficiency companies in rural Native American communities and Israel. He is an Unreasonable Institute fellow and Brower Youth Award winner. In 2012, Dan was recognized as one of the 30 Under 30 in Energy by Forbes Magazine in recognition of his leadership on innovative ways of financing clean energy.
Steve RichmondFounder/Chief Financial Officer
Steve has more than 15 years of experience in finance and entrepreneurship. Prior to co-founding Mosaic, Steve co-founded SavvyMoney, an online financial service, and SelectMinds, a provider of talent acquisition and social recruiting software. Steve started his career at Hambrecht & Quist, a technology-focused investment bank, and between entrepreneurial ventures has worked as a consultant to the financial services industry with clients including Schwab and Wells Fargo. Steve graduated from Princeton University in 1995, where he was awarded a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship.
Tony BakoChief Technology Officer
Tony brings to Mosaic more than 15 years of experience managing technology and operations for enterprise software and Internet companies. Tony leads Mosaic’s product, engineering, and operations functions. Prior to joining Mosaic, Tony served as VP of Engineering at Chegg, where he led multiple engineering teams responsible for building the technology that serviced millions of students and hundreds of millions of dollars of orders annually. Prior to Chegg, he served as VP of Engineering at Cramster, where he built the technology and operations organization through multiple rounds of venture financing until its eventual acquisition by Chegg. Before that, Tony led technology at an enterprise software company, and other Internet startups. Tony holds a B.S. in Biomedical and Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California.
Bruce LedesmaChief Operating Officer
Bruce Ledesma is the Chief Operating Officer of Solar Mosaic, Inc., the nation’s leading peer-to-peer lending platform for commercial and residential solar installations. Bruce has overall responsibility for business operations, corporate development and administrative affairs. In addition, he is responsible for establishing and maintaining Mosaic’s strategic partnerships with financial institutions acquiring consumer loans from Mosaic’s portfolio. Previously Bruce was the Co-founder and principal of Roble Capital, a private investment fund. He has over 20 years of experience as a business executive and corporate lawyer in the financial services and solar industries. Bruce previously served as the Executive Vice President and General Counsel of SunPower Corporation, one of the world’s largest solar companies, where he provided leadership and oversight of all legal and regulatory compliance matters globally during SunPower’s revenue growth from $250 million to $2.3 billion. Bruce also held various executive positions at Barra Inc. (now MSCI Barra), a global provider of portfolio management tools to the world’s largest institutional investment firms and brokerages. Bruce also sits on the board of NEXTracker Inc., a technology equipment provider for utility-scale renewable energy power plants. Bruce holds a BA in Economics from Stanford University and is a graduate of Harvard Law School.
Felicia ValleraExecutive Vice President and General Counsel
Felicia Vallera, Mosaic’s EVP & General Counsel, leads Mosaic’s legal and regulatory affairs, supports Mosaic’s strategic alliance and funding transactions, and is the primary driver for Mosaic’s multistate expansion initiative. Felicia is a seasoned business attorney with more than 30 years of progressive management experience in rapidly-growing financial and technology service organizations including KPMG, First Interstate Bancorp, and IBM. She has served as legal counsel to many global financial and capital markets firms including BlackRock, BNP Paribas, JPM/Chase, and Wells Fargo. She has also worked extensively with early stage startups, providing holistic legal training and mentoring to support successful launch and sustainable growth. Felicia received her MBA with emphasis in Decision Support/Strategic Planning from the University of Southern California, her JD from Hastings College of the Law, and interned with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission. She was twice elected by her peers and colleagues as Chair of the Business Law Section of the Bar Association of San Francisco, and is a past president of the Barristers Club and Queen’s Bench.
Lisa GanskyBoard Member
Lisa is an entrepreneur, investor, speaker and author of the bestselling book, The Mesh: Why the Future of Business is Sharing and the chief instigator of Mesh Labs www.meshing.it – (global directory for the sharing economy) She works in the design of new products, policies, services, partnerships and models in which ‘access’ to goods, services and talent triumphs over the ownership of them’. Lisa invests, advises, speaks and writes on the topics of innovation, collaboration and the Share Economy including: cities as platforms, power of peers, shareable business models, building trust in a shared world, the hidden value in waste, and the rise of entrepreneurship.
Tom DinwoodieBoard Member
Tom Dinwoodie is a solar pioneer with over 25 years of experience in renewable energy. He founded PowerLight Corporation, which later merged with SunPower, where he served as CTO. He serves on the boards of Etrion Corporation and the Rocky Mountain Institute, as well as the Sierra Club’s Climate Cabinet and Scientific Advisory Panel. Dinwoodie holds numerous patents on PV and related products. He has a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from Cornell University, an M.S. from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at MIT, and an M.A. in Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley.
